Wales, United Kingdom
Just outside of Cardiff, Wales are these gorgeous peaks. I can’t remember what pushed me in that direction, but once there it was quiet and simple. After missing my bus stop I had a few miles to walk uphill, and when I reached my accommodation found out that it was only staffed for a number of hours per day. Quiet.
So I dumped my gear and started hiking up. This is boggy land. Very wet. I reached a summit and was looking towards these gems. I hope they speak for themselves.
I only found treasure by looking. When I’d seen the sign on the door of the hostel saying no-one would arrive for a few hours it would’ve been easy to just wait or take a nap, but I’m glad I didn’t. So in quiet times like this, where waiting seems to be the obvious option, I have to keep reminding myself to find something else.
